Chinese Wedding Games

on the morning of the wedding the groom and all his “hing dai” (gang of best men) go to the brides house to pick up the bride. the tradition is that the bridesmaids do not give up the bride easily as she is special to them and worth alot. instead they have a few tests/games that the groom must pass then the groom must pay them a “lai see” to be allowed into the house to pick up the bride.

this is all in good faith of course and the wedding games are just a bit of light hearted fun. normally the wedding games should not involve getting the groom hurt in anyway or his clothes dirty either as the bride needs him and his clothes intact for the later ceremonies. although the bridesmaids can be a little evil sometime in their demands of the groom.

the good news for the groom? the “hing dai” that are with the groom can be picked by the groom to perform the tests instead of him! i have been “hing dai” to a few of my friends/relatives and survived the games tests. here are some ideas for the bridesmaids for games to play on the groom.

Chinese Wedding Day Games for The Groom

The Banana BJ

speaks for itself really but usually the groom or “hing dai” will have to eat a whole banana from the flys of the groom or “hing dai”s trousers. quite funny to watch really as its normally quite humiliating for the eater of the banana, unless they are into that kind of thing.

Eating strange food

i’ve had all sorts of strange stuff ranging from turd looking deserts (above), chilli jelly, maggot sandwiches.
the list goes on, but i must state bridesmaids please make sure that the food is edible and will not make us ill! you don’t want the groom to be sick when he gets to the registry office do you?

Waxing of the armpits or other body hair

this involves using wax to remove the hair from the groom or one of his “hing dai” and generally does hurt! be nice please…

more to come…
