My Chinese Wedding 2008

I’m getting married in 2008! Help!

Chinese Wedding Door Games

Posted on August 17, 2007 in the Chinese Wedding Traditions category

I have to organise the Wedding Door Games for my sisters wedding in October. I have come up with a few ideas but I think I need to be abit more evil.

So all the guys come to the house in the morning, all the gee mui’s are stood behind the door. We wait for them to ring the bell but we don’t answer, all we do is slip a piece of paper through the door and ask for £9999.99 or something along those lines. Then we wait for them to ring again. When we open the door, I will explain that if you don’t wait to pay that amount then you have to do the tasks that we have planned and for everyone that you complete, we will subract £100.

1. Pick one guy to brush their teeth with wasabi

2. Eat a banana from someones crotch

3. Put lipstick on and kiss someone for 10 seconds

4. Wear a baby’s bib whilst someone feeds you baby food

5. Wear a bright pink thong

6. Sing a love song

7. All stand in a line and pass a chilli along using mouths only

8. Wear a bra on your head

9. Wax somesone chest

10. Drink a mug of super strong cold coffee

and if thats not enough, theres one more task for the groom to do before we let him up to the bride. We block him on the middle of the stairs and make him read out this………

‘ I, Long promise to worship Helen forever and ever. I promise to not rush her when she is putting on her make up and getting ready, instead I will wait patiently and smile at her. I will let her go online every night for unlimited minutes or hours. Everyday I will make her a cup of tea when she wakes up and when she finishes work I will massage her feet for 10 minutes every night and not complain about the smell. Helen you mean the world to me I cannot live without you.’

Then we let him get his bride to be. I don’t know if we have time to do all 10 games but we have to be vicious and not let them time waste.

I found a clip on Youtube which I think I may copy the idea for game 7, instead of the chilli, use seaweed. It looks more fun.

LOL… that’s so funny. Wow… eating bananna from someone’s crotch… haha.. and you think you need to be more evil? you’re awesome. I LOVE that proclamation of love he has to read. I was a bridesmaid and I sucked at thinking of anything interesting for the guys to do… oh but I went to one wedding where the girls made the guys to a human pyramid… the guys did it and I was pretty impressed.

Congratulations on your engagement and best wishes to you and your future husband.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my page, its nice to know people actually read my wedding blog. I think I need to be twice as evil on the wedding games as the groom has now said that he’s only allocating 5 mins for games and that is not enough. So either he has to pay twice as much or I’m going to have twice as much fun watching them suffer muahahaha!!!!!

I was bridesmaid before at my cousins wedding and I made the huge mistake of not counting the money when they handed it to us. We played a few games and then they gave me a big bag of coins and I thought my job was done but I didn’t know I had try my hardest to get as much as possible. So I’ve learnt from that mistake, don’t give in too early thats my tip.

Thank you for the congratulations and best wishes. I think so far the planning hasn’t been too bad but I know its going to get alot more stressful.

Oooh you girls are evil, LOL. Found your great blog via google, good idea to blog your experience and am sure will be a great resource or othres in years to come. :)

Guys, guys! Listen. Just turn up really late, just as it’s time to have the tea ceremony and the elders will tell the girls to cut the games short. *wink*

Me, it’s my 10th wedding anniversary this year. I’m just doing some research on Chinese Weddings.

Good luck Sally and Dave, the day can be either fun or stressful and it’s up to you. Relax and take it easy on the day. What will be will be.

Hi Ray, thanks for visiting my site and leaving a comment, I think you’re the first guy to do that (apart from Dave)

I’m not too impressed with your idea of turning up late. I think its such a shame for the guys to miss out on all the fun as the gee mui’s were probably up most of the night planning these ’special’ games for you. hahaha

    Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.

    Sally
