Fat Cat Nottingham

I never knew that organising dinner for 25 people would be so much hassle. I rang up Fat Cat Nottingham yesterday to ask about making a dinner reservation for 25 people, they said that they can cater for 25 but we would have to pre-order first, I was abit iffy about making all my guests order 2 days in advance so I said I would ring them back.
I found 2 other restaurants that I quite liked, Sinatra’s Nottingham which is opposite Fat Cat Nottingham or The Living Room Nottingham. I looked at Sinatra’s website and saw that the interior didn’t look as nice because the whole walls were covered in framed pictures, its ok if you like that quirky look but its not for me. That means I was left with The Living Room, I have been to the one in Birmingham and found the food very nice so I thought it would be a good choice, kinda like Fat Cat Nottingham food wise but abit upmarket. I gave them a call and they said they could cater for 25 people but we would have to choose from a reduced menu. I would have to select 5 starters and 5 mains to make up the menu. I thought that idea and I was nearly sold on it but then she explained the seating arrangements. We would be sectioned off from main restuarant to give us some privacy but all tables can only seat 4 so I would have to have 6 or 7 tables, I wasn’t keen on that idea at all because my friends are coming from Leeds, Birmingham and Leicester and I want to be sat with them not on another table so I said I would think about it and call her back.
I called Dave and he said that its my choice and that seating arrangements aren’t my problem, the restaurant should deal with seating people. He said that I should call Fat Cat and see if they can do a reduced menu instead of a pre-order cos that was the only issue. So I called them again and asked, they said they could do a reduced menu but I wouldn’t be picking the dishes the chef would, which is fair enough cos I’m not going to be cooking it, he is. They also said we would be sat on a long table which has a gap in the middle so that the waiters can walk past, which is fine although I would have liked to be upstairs but they said that the section is closed on Tuesdays.
So thats my birthday sorted, one thing I have learnt is not to organise another big dinner party, especially not my own. No its not a dig at you Dave, that I have to organise my own Birthday I’m just venting at the fact that not many restaurants have the ability to cater for huge parties or did I just pick the wrong restaurants?? Maybe we could have just had Chinese at least they are reliable.

Why would it be a dig at you? I would have told you if I had a problem with organising my own birthday
