Mary & John’s Wedding 29.05.2007

Posted on May 30, 2007 in the Real Weddings category

Congratulations to Mary and John who got married on Tuesday the 29th May 2007. They had their registry in Worcester then had the Reception at Chateau Impney in Droitwich Spa.

The weather wasn’t too bad, it was forecasted to have light showers but I think it missed Droitwich. The reception started at 5pm, we took pictures in the picturesque garden then we were seated for food. We started with a melon with fruit puree starter then the buffet started. The hotel were serving, chicken fricasse, rice, chilli con carne, vegetables, salads and a selection of cooked meats. Food was reasonable but I was expected some with more class seeing as it was a Four Star Hotel. Then we had cake, black forest gateau or lemon cheese cake. I had the cheese cake which was yummy. After dessert came coffee with slices of the wedding cake and chocolate mints. We were then asked to go out to the terrace or lounge whilst they turn the room around for the evening’s disco. We stayed for Mary and John’s first dance which was to Shania Twain’s You’re still the one. Then we left at around 9.30pm because we had enough of the cheesy disco music being played.

It was the first english wedding I have ever attended and I kinda prefer Chinese weddings. The food is alot nicer, drinks are already included on the tables so you don’t have to buy your own drinks. I think the atmosphere is also nicer at a chinese restaurant but maybe thats just me.

Anyway I hope Big John & Little Mary have a wonderful life together.

I agree - we had 5 weddings to go to this year and only one was chinese (my auntie’s). Western weddings tend to be a lot smaller and more civilised - there is no so much fun and games and rowdiness as at chinese weddings!!
